Age 9-14 years
AIKI KIDS brings together the rich tradition of Japanese martial arts and the modern understanding of neurodevelopment to help your children become comfortable in their own bodies. Children's classes are separated into 6-8 year old and 9-14 year old age groups. The younger age group focuses more on balance, co-ordination and learning skills needed for Aikido training in a fun, exciting and challenging way appropriate for this age group. In the older age group, formal techniques are learned in more detail but avoiding joint locks and techniques that are potentially dangerous for young bodies. For teens over 14, it is normally more appropriate for them to join in with the general, adult classes.
